Reporting Manager Role
VP, General Counsel


Reporting to the Vice President, General Counsel, the Corporate Counsel role is a newly created role in a growing legal department also comprised of an Assistant Corporate Secretary, Corporate Law Clerk, and Manager of Land and Tenure.



This position is ideal for someone with a strong corporate/transactional background and a genuine interest in mining and natural resources, who wishes to also have a fast-paced generalist in-house practise with a growing global TSX and NYSE listed mining company.



In addition to general corporate/commercial, corporate secretarial and transactional legal work, the position is ideally suited for someone interested in supporting our various business functions by providing advice in the areas of employment law, risk management, litigation management, environmental law, corporate social responsibility, first nation’s engagement, land and tenure, and information technology.


  • Supports and assists in managing the Corporate Secretarial function;
  • Negotiates and drafts a full range of commercial and legal agreements;
  • Supports and works with a diverse group of internal clients;
  • Works with and instructs outside counsel on a wide range of matters, including transactions; and
  • Other duties as required.

Although this position is based in our downtown Toronto head office, some travel to our various sites may be required.


  • Three to five years of experience at a top firm.
  • Law degree and membership in good standing with Law Society of Upper Canada.
  • Some mining experience would be beneficial.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Highly focused with attention to detail.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects, across time zones, in fast-paced environment.
