Reporting to the Vice President, General Counsel, the Corporate Counsel role is a newly created role in a growing legal department also comprised of an Assistant Corporate Secretary, Corporate Law Clerk, and Manager of Land and Tenure.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong corporate/transactional background and a genuine interest in mining and natural resources, who wishes to also have a fast-paced generalist in-house practise with a growing global TSX and NYSE listed mining company.
In addition to general corporate/commercial, corporate secretarial and transactional legal work, the position is ideally suited for someone interested in supporting our various business functions by providing advice in the areas of employment law, risk management, litigation management, environmental law, corporate social responsibility, first nation’s engagement, land and tenure, and information technology.
Although this position is based in our downtown Toronto head office, some travel to our various sites may be required.
