Director, Geo-Information and Analytics

Overview

Reporting to the Director, Geo-Information and Analytics, the Document Specialist will be responsible for the administration of the document management system and all related procedures that allow the global Exploration Team to capture, maintain and share electronic records and documents. This is a one (1) year contract. 

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all file servers, ensuring documents are organized and readily available;
  • Oversee document management system for Exploration;
  • Prepare digital information for publishing in Geoportal;
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures for the management of exploration documents company-wide;
  • Standardize document templates and reporting processes company-wide;
  • Support exploration offices in the collection and distribution of digital files and the overall digitization of the exploration department;
  • Catalogue, organize and transform legacy information when required;
  • Summarize and report on large amounts of information;
  • Prepare training materials and tutorials, as well as, provide software training to users; and
  • Other related duties as required including travel (up to 10%).

Qualifications

 

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role (5 years+);
  • Degree in Information Management, Geology or a related discipline;
  • Knowledge of Exploration and/or Mining workflows;
  • Demonstrated competency working with SharePoint;
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel;
  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts;
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and strong attention to detail;
  • An ability to communicate and work effectively with other employees and contractors using tact, courtesy, and good judgment;
  • Experience using Business Intelligence tools would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of GIS and DB technologies are considered assets;
  • Experience in designing and delivering training would be an asset;
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish would be an asset; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.
