  • Overview

    Reporting to the Treasurer, the Treasury Analyst will collaborate with multiple stakeholders and work on a spectrum of treasury and finance activities.  The position will assist the Treasurer in managing the global hedging program, insurance, bank services, cash management, internal reporting, managing counterparties, and any special projects.



    The role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside professionals at both the Corporate office, as well as the Company’s regional business units.




    Primary Responsibilities:        

    • Assist with the management of cash balances and wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments, and all operations are adequately funded.
    • Review and recommend various short-term investment alternatives
    • Assist with managing the Company’s bank accounts, including opening new bank accounts and maintaining / updating bank records while complying with bank policies and regulation
    • Maintain relationships with lenders and counterparties
    • Prepare consolidated cash reports and short-term cash forecasts, including monthly and quarterly reports for management
    • Identify and analyze foreign currency and commodity exposures for each operation
    • Analyze market trends and developments and provide support on various metals and F/X trading activities
    • Prepare and coordinate documents for Letters of Credit or surety bond
    • Liaise with the insurance broker and operations to provide information required for the annual insurance renewal process
    • Assist with capital market transactions as required
    • Provide hedge accounting support to the operation and corporate accounting team
    • Assist with ad hoc projects and requests as required


    Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

    • University degree, with an emphasis in Finance.
    • At least three years post graduate experience, with a minimum one year of treasury experience.
    • Preference will be given to individuals with a CPA or CFA designation or working towards one.
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Knowledge of SAP, Bloomberg and Reuters would be an asset but not required
    • General knowledge of financial markets, derivative instruments and accounting
    • Motivated self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Can work independently and capable of organizing work to meet time commitments
    • Proven ability to work well with others
