  • Overview

    Reporting to the Exploration Manager, Canada, the Geological Assistant will support various geoscience activities relating to the exploration program at Lynn Lake.  You will be based in Lynn Lake Manitoba and will work on a 20/10 rotation schedule. Travel from your home to site, and room and board, will be provided at the Company’s expense. The anticipated start date is late-April or early-May through until the end of August.



    This role will provide Geology and Earth Science students with the opportunity to obtain valuable geological experience through technical field-based training opportunities.


    Primary Responsibilities:        

    • Assisting with a variety of geological activities at both the deposit- and regional-scale including surficial heavy mineral and geochemical sampling programs, geological mapping, prospecting, ground geophysical surveys, lake sediment sampling, and core logging;
    • Collecting and interpreting field observations utilizing the regional geology and appropriate ore deposit models;
    • Research, data compilation, and data entry for a variety of geological, geophysical, and geochemical datasets; and
    • Other duties as required.


    Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

    • Enrolment in the 3rd or 4th year of a B.Sc (Geology) program
    • Familiar with basic geological concepts;
    • Must be able to navigate in remote areas using compass and GPS;
    • Possess a valid Canadian Driver’s License and clear Driver’s Abstract;
    • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail;
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team;
    • Works safely and promotes safe and environmental practices;
    • Ability to carry out assigned tasks in various work environments including both field and office settings.
