  • Overview

    Reporting to the Director of IT, the IT Security and Solution Manager will deliver and lead specific IT projects; implement security controls against our governance framework; ensure ongoing application support and manage various IT solutions as required across our IT landscape. This is a very hands-on role in a small team. This is a 12 month contract opportunity with a possibility to become a full-time role. 



    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and deliver on IT Systems and Infrastructure related projects; requests, tasks, security and associated requirements;
    • Project administration; ongoing maintenance; security for all global infrastructure and solutions aligned with corporate standards on software solutions, infrastructure, mobility solutions, telephony and conferencing services;
    • Ensure all sites are aligned to the overall AGI security framework and plan initiatives to fill any gaps;
    • Support the existing IT teams on advisory, network or system related issues, as required;
    • Ensure ongoing IT communication, drive increased product or solution use and general awareness training
    • Follow a structured approach for reporting, tracking and documenting all projects, support, changes and service requests via the standard IT helpdesk system (Kace);
    • Liaise with various IT and support vendors and contractors, as required;
    • Analyze IT issues being reported while demonstrating root cause, problem solving and troubleshooting techniques to resolve the issue;
    • Ensure all work, procedures, tasks and projects are fully documented and updated regularly and reported on;
    • Consistent relevant communication with all stakeholders
    • Display constant improvement through efficiencies, automation and innovation – to be measured and reported on at least on a quarterly basis; and
    • Other duties, as assigned.


    Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

    • Undergraduate Computer Science degree or equivalent;
    • Active IT Governance/Security certification or actively pursuing one;
    • Current project management certification;
    • Current Microsoft certification for enterprise systems and networks support is an asset;
    • Strong experience across all aspects of providing standardized IT services in environments of at least 300 users based in multiple sites;
    • Minimum of 5 years supporting enterprise grade virtualized or hosted environments;
    • Minimum of 5 years actively administering a Microsoft enterprise domain across all aspects of desktop and server administration;
    • Ability to work safely in a flexible, high demand environment with numerous simultaneous tasks;
    • Proven ability to assist and grow the team through cross-skilling and task rotation;
    • Exceptional customer and service focus; sensitive and responsive to end-user satisfaction and self-motivated;
    • Display strong supervisory, knowledge sharing and learning attributes;
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills aimed at problem and incident resolution/prevention;
    • Exceptional documentation and record-keeping skills;
    • Good communication skills;
    • Detail-oriented with outstanding ability to follow-up with multiple simultaneous issues.
