  • Overview

    Reporting to the Director of IT, the IT Support Analyst will be responsible for all first level support on applications and IT infrastructure. This role will be focused primarily around delivery to the corporate office, assisting various mine sites as required. 


    Primary Responsibilities:         

    • Serve as the first point of contact for technical support calls, walk-ups, instant messages, web-based tickets, and emails to the IT Department and track issues through resolution or escalation via an enterprise help desk system;
    • Maintain and resolve end-user hardware, operating system, and software related problems; basic network and server access problems for end users; voice communications (i.e., VoIP telephones) and voicemail systems;
    • Provide excellent and efficient support to remote and on-site users;
    • Work with VIP’s and executive level leadership, providing exceptional service where necessary;
    • Provide IT support for large and small meetings hosted onsite and remotely;
    • Analyze, document and escalate support issues that cannot be addressed to appropriate senior IT staff;
    • Install, configure, and test laptops/desktops, mobile devices, peripherals and software;
    • Prepare new user setup including user account creation and image-based hardware deployments;
    • Maintain inventory of hardware devices and software licensing;
    • Educate staff on appropriate use of hardware and software to prevent errors and promote efficiency;
    • Compile, manage and update Service Desk and IT Operations documentation and procedures;
    • Assist employees using Microsoft applications. (Outlook, Skype for Business, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.); and,
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related field preferred; or two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
    • Minimum 4 years of general Help Desk experience in an enterprise environment of 300+users;
    • Experience supporting Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office, required;
    • Working knowledge of Active Directory, laptop/desktop/peripheral hardware, networks and network cabling, and,tomated software deployment mechanisms ;
    • Current Microsoft or CompTIA certifications, preferred;
    • ITIL Foundations certification, an asset; 
    • Ability to work in a team environment and encourage collaboration and positivity
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to succeed in a multitasking role which will include taking inbound calls, instant messages, walk-ups, emails and web-based issues;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing clear, concise and professional documentation for areas of assigned responsibility; and,
    • Willingness and ability to take calls after hours and on weekends, as required
