  • Overview

    Reporting to the Mill General Foreman, the Mill Supervisor is responsible in executing mill plans by providing direction and supervision to the mill employees and ensuring that the production and milling targets and schedules are met as forecast. To contribute to the development of mill employees and the effective operation of the mill while respecting health, safety and environmental standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the efficient operation of the mill operating teams
    • Provide assistance to Senior Supervisor/Superintendent in the hiring of mill employees
    • Provide employees with clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required
    • Ensure that training is provided in accordance with the future needs of direct reports and mine staff
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
    • Ensure health & safety, and environmental standards are respected
    • Analyze accidents and broken equipment to find solutions and avoid repeating the event
    • Prepare and animate monthly team meetings reinforcing HSS standards
    • Other duties as required

    Qualifications

    • Technical training or certification or Diploma of Collegial Studies
    • 5-8 years of related experience & Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory roles.
    • Solid working knowledge of milling methods
    • Good understanding and working knowledge of the applicable legislation and regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
    • Self-starter who is able to anticipate needs and work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment.
    • Excellent inter-personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort.
    • Good communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
